About us
Welcome to otherhug — a creative space built on handmade joy, soft textures, and the warmth of building something together.
Otherhug grew from a very personal journey.
Before this brand existed, I ran a dessert shop.
I worked as an interior designer.
I designed kitchens and beautiful living spaces for others.
And through it all, I always carried a deep love for drawing, craftsmanship, and the beauty in small details.
How motherhood reshaped everything
After becoming a mother, my world changed.
I wanted to create soft, personalised accessories for my children — especially gentle materials like cashmere and silk, because of their eczema-prone skin.
This led me to explore sewing, knitting, needle felting…
And slowly, crafting became not just a hobby but a way of finding myself again.
A journey shared — Raina joins the story
During this journey, Raina joined me.
A close friend, a partner, and someone who also longed for a doorway into the handmade world.
Raina has always loved crafts but spent years working in a fast-paced job.
Starting otherhug together became her chance to explore creativity and step into a different kind of life.
Today, she manages our operations, store management, and supply chain — bringing stability, structure, and the warm companionship needed in building a brand from scratch.
